Archbishop Sentamu Academy is a new kind of school for a new age, sponsored by the Church of England Diocese of York and dedicated to providing a 21st Century learning environment that expands choices and opportunities for its students. We are a highly inclusive Academy with a strong Christian ethos, and we welcome students from all backgrounds, regardless of ability. We offer students an extensive of educational opportunities, including specialisms in Health Science and Business and Enterprise.
Learning is further extended by partnerships with other education providers, such as Hull City Council, Hull Primary Care Trust, Hull University, York St. John University and Hull College.
We believe there is no ceiling on an individual student's capacity to achieve, whatever his or her ability or talent. Our vision is to ensure we provide the resources, tools, learning environment, support and encouragement to enable all students to achieve their best and to become confident, articulate, healthy and responsible young men and women.
Teacher of English Required from September 2012: Archbishop Sentamu Academy has just moved into a brand-new £35million building in East Hull which has outstanding facilities for Technology. In April 2011 OfSTED judged us to be "Good, with Outstanding Features", and student achievement has risen strongly since the school became an Academy three years ago. In 2011, 93% of students achieved 5+ GCSEs at A* to C, with 47% achieving 5+ A*-C including English and Maths. We now require an exceptional qualified Teacher to join our English team. English is highly successful and our new building has many facilities that will enhance its delivery further. The position may be suitable for candidates that are currently undertaking GTP or PGCE.
